About Sarah

A List of Facts Where I Try to be at Least Partially Amusing While Really Just Giving my Bio:

I grew up in New Hampshire, and have spent the last decade bouncing back and forth between there and DC.

I’ve been blogging anonymously for years. I’d love to share some of the old entries, but likely never will. In part because the content is highly embarrassing, but mostly because the writing is so very, very bad.

I drive a VW Beetle Convertible, and until I procreate, I am not sure I could love anything more (except maybe the Red Sox).

“Why don’t you write a novel?” is the third most frequent thing my parents say to me, right behind “You’re wearing that?” and “A lot of women don’t get married until their 30s!”

I will absolutely make a joke at your expense within five minutes of meeting you, but only if I like you.

I own a lot of high heels. Love to buy them, hate to wear them. I am convinced that my favorite pair enjoyed a previous existence as a bear trap. And yet, I love them. It’s like an abusive relationship; I should make a Lifetime movie–”Agony in Stilettos: The Sarah Wurrey Story.”

I like people from New England; the accents remind me of home and they’re the only people who understand why my parents always had two refrigerators.

I got a Macbook Pro this summer, and still have absolutely, 100% zero idea how to use it. But it’s so pretty!!!!

My dad always told me to never keep a diary unless I was prepared to defend everything I wrote in court–I’ll be looking at this blog the same way and will strive to not curse, and I’m already wondering if that refrigerator crack was appropriate.

My dad also always said, “take care of your camping equipment, and your camping equipment will take care of you.” And, based on the fact that I never got eaten by a bear during our many camping excursions, I’ve got to figure he’s right about some things.

I work in public affairs, write occasionally for Blogstring.com and Media Bullseye, and host the sporadic podcast with Blogstring’s Nathan Burke. I am very into social media, but have not been as heavily invested of late. This blog is an attempt to stay involved in that space, entertain my friends and write about random things in my life.
